Fatehabad, July 11 (HS). In MM College of Education, a special plantation drive was organized today by NSS and ESMC cell on the occasion of Van Mahotsav week, taking forward the series 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam'. Vice President of MM College of Education Sanjay Batra inaugurated the program by planting a sapling in the college premises and distributed saplings to all the students and asked them to plant and take care of them.
NSS volunteers also distributed saplings to people by visiting different places. Passersby outside MM College were also included in this campaign of environmental protection by distributing free saplings to them. During this, the message given to the people was that every person should plant a tree in the courtyard of his house.
NSS Unit Incharge Dr. Kamala Joshi and ESMC Incharge Sunita Rani motivated the students to plant a sapling with their mother, take a photo and write a slogan in her name. She informed that the country's Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign on World Environment Day. The college students are participating in this campaign enthusiastically to involve more and more people and make Mother Earth green. In the end, Principal Dr. Janak Rani thanked the students and teachers. On this occasion, the college students and staff members also planted saplings.
