East Champaran, August 27 (HS). Special Judge of POCSO Act Court No. 1, Rajaram Santosh Kumar, has sentenced one of the two accused named in the gang rape case to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of eight thousand rupees after being found guilty.
The punishment was given to Sariq Ansari, a resident of Rajepur of Govindganj police station. The second accused Mukul Dubey alias Sudhir Dubey was also convicted on August 7, but he did not appear in the court. Due to his absence at the time of sentencing on Tuesday, the court separated his case and took further action. In the case, the victim's father had registered Govindganj police station case number 228/2022 and named Sariq Ansari and Mukul Dubey alias Sudhir Dubey along with others. In which it was said that on June 11, 2022, villager Anita Kumari lured his minor daughter and handed her over to the clutches of the named people and those monsters gang-raped his daughter.
During the trial of POCSO case number 58/2022, Special Public Prosecutor Mani Kumar presented eight witnesses in the court and presented the prosecution side. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court has given the said punishment to Sarika Ansari. The judge has declared the victim as a victim and directed the District Legal Services Authority to take action to give compensation under the Compensation Act.
