The Central Government has approved a new Central Sector Scheme, One Nation One Subscription, to provide nationwide access to scholarly research articles and journal publications. The scheme will be operated through a simple, user-friendly and completely digital process.
The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today allocated a total of about Rs 6 thousand crore for One Nation One Subscription for 3 calendar years 2025, 2026 and 2027 as a new Central Sector Scheme.
Giving information about the Cabinet decision, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the scheme will complement the ANRF initiative to promote research and development and promote a culture of research and innovation in government universities, colleges, research institutes and R&D laboratories. .
He informed that the benefit of One Nation One Subscription Scheme will be extended to all higher educational institutions under the management of Central or State Government and Central Government Research and Development Institutions through national membership coordinated by a central agency, Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET). Will be provided from. The list includes more than 6,300 institutions. This includes approximately 1.8 crore students, faculty and researchers who can potentially benefit from the One Nation One Subscription.
