New Delhi: There was a lot of discussion about One Nation One Election Bill in the country for some time. The Union Cabinet approved this bill on Thursday and there was talk that the bill will be introduced in the Lok Sabha on Monday. It has been removed from the revised business list of the Lok Sabha on Monday. Furthermore, no explanation has been given as to why the government took a U-turn or when the bill will be introduced.

One Nation One Election Bill became a hot topic in the country since the beginning of the winter session. Two bills in this regard were to be presented in the Lok Sabha on Monday. The Lok Sabha agenda for Monday was announced on Friday, with Parliament often disrupted in the wake of the Adani and George Soros controversy, adding that the One Nation One Election Bill will be introduced in the Lok Sabha.

However, the central government announced a revised agenda on Sunday, in which this bill has been removed. According to the revised agenda, the bill will not be introduced in the Lok Sabha on Monday. Not only this, no clear reason has been given as to why the government took this decision and when this bill will be presented. After the end of the winter session on December 20, there is now confusion regarding the presentation of this bill.

However, according to sources, the government has delayed presenting the One Nation, One Election Bill in the Lok Sabha. The bill is likely to be brought in the House after the financial work is completed. Earlier, the Constitution (129th Amendment) Bill and the Union Territory Laws (Amendment) Bill were listed for introduction in the Lok Sabha on Monday. These bills were not included in Monday’s agenda in the revised list released by the Lok Sabha Secretariat. However, after the approval of the Speaker in the Lok Sabha, the government can introduce the bill in the House through the supplementary list in the final stage.
