One lakh new domestic gas connections will be provided through pipeline in Rajasthan, two thousand km long gas line will be laid

Jaipur, July 19. In Rajasthan, infrastructure will be expanded for one lakh new domestic gas connections through pipeline this financial year. Two thousand kilometer long gas pipeline will be laid in eight cities including Jaipur and Kota.

This information was given by Mines and Petroleum Secretary Anandi. She said that the CT gas distribution organizations have been requested to submit maximum investment proposals and sign MoUs for expansion of infrastructure facilities in the CNG-PNG sector in the Rajasthan Investment Summit to be held at the end of this year.

Anandi, in a state-level meeting of 13 CGD organizations and officials of the concerned department at the secretariat on Friday, directed the concerned CGD organizations to prepare a roadmap and implement it for laying 2 thousand kilometer long gas pipeline in Jaipur, Kota, Alwar, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bundi, Ajmer and Pali in the state. One lakh domestic gas connections will be issued through the pipeline this year. He directed to provide maximum gas connections through the pipeline in domestic as well as industrial areas.

He said that in the changing environment, CNG PNG is the need of the hour. Along with accelerating the work of developing the infrastructure, we will have to expand CNG-PNG services in industrial and commercial areas along with domestic gas connections through pipeline.

In the meeting, MD RIICO Shiv Prakash Nakate assured that land and other facilities will be provided on priority for CNG, PNG and LNG in RIICO operated industrial areas and proposed new parks. He expressed the need for rapid expansion of CNG PNG services in the industrial sector in the state.

MD of Rajasthan State Gas Ranvir Singh said that 13 organizations are doing CGD work in different areas in the state. So far, 309443 domestic gas connections and 465 industrial connections have been issued through pipeline. Along with this, gas is being provided to vehicles through 364 CNG stations. Infrastructure is being developed for expansion of CNG-PNG facilities by CGD companies in the state and connections and facilities are being expanded in a phased manner.

In the meeting, it was suggested to have positive cooperation from local administration, PWD, urban bodies etc. departments in expansion of basic facilities, solution of other problems including availability of space in RIICO industrial area, along with provision of CNG PNG incentives in RIPS.
