Forest officials and WWF officials jointly gave a one-day training to foresters, forest guards, TT and PP of all the 5 ranges under Valmiki Tiger Project Forest Division 2 on Monday in the audio-video auditorium of the Forest Department located in Valmikinagar. The main objective of the training was focused on the protection and development of forest wealth and wildlife.
In this context, trainee DFO Stalin Fedal Kumar said that forest personnel from all ranges of Valmikinagar, Gonauli, Madanpur, Chiuntha and Harnatad of Division 2 have been given training for this. He said that the forest personnel were given detailed information about the rights, functions, importance and responsibilities of the Eco Development Committee established in the forest villages. Also, training is being given regarding the departmental rules for the formation of EDC in forest villages. Its main objective is the protection, conservation and development of forest wealth and wildlife. Also, the working system of camera traps installed in the forest area, their utility, monitoring with the help of tiger footprints, identification of footprints were given through a film. Soon, detailed information will be provided to the forest personnel on these main points through a workshop.
He said that after this training, forest workers will be able to monitor forest wealth and wildlife in the forest area. With new techniques, work will become easy and accessible. The department is also serious about identifying forest workers who are negligent in their work. Action will be taken against the negligent forest workers. In this training, apart from DFO Stalin Fedal Kumar, WWF Terai Arc Landscape coordinator Dr Prakash Mardraj, WWF project officer Banke Lal Prajapati, Valmikinagar forest area officer Rajkumar Paswan, forest guard Naveen Kumar, dozens of forest workers were present as trainers.
