One crore 14 lakh 99 thousand rupees recovered from GD Goenka School in Ranchi Police raid

Ranchi, 30 October (Hindustan Reporter). Ranchi Police has recovered Rs 1 crore 14 lakh 99 thousand 980 during the raid in GD Goenka School of Namkum police station area on Wednesday. The police also seized three foreign liquor bottles of different brands, an American tourist bag and two mobile phones during the raid.

Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Varun Ranjan and SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha jointly told in the press conference on Wednesday night that during the continuous action being taken to conduct free, fair and fear-free assembly elections, secret information was received that in Namkum police station area. Cash has been kept hidden in the campus of GD Goenka Public School for the purpose of influencing the election process and using money power in voting, which is a clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

SSP said that for verification of the information received and necessary action, a raid team was formed under the leadership of Rural SP Sumit Aggarwal and including DSP Headquarters Amar Pandey, Kotwali DSP Prakash Soy, City DSP KV Raman and Flying Squad team. Around 100 armed forces were included in the raid team. During the raid to verify the information, GD Goenka Public School was cordoned off and the premises were thoroughly searched. During this, school president Madan Singh and other school employees were present. During the search, a large amount of cash was recovered from the wooden almirah in the vice-principal's room. The recovered amount was calculated using a cash counting machine. 1,14,99,980 were found in this sequence. In relation to the said recovered money, further action is being taken by registering a case (case no. 419/24) in Namkum police station on the charges of violation of election code of conduct. The legitimate source of the recovered amount is being investigated. Formal information regarding the said recovery has been given to the Income Tax Department.
