Guwahati, 09 November (HS). The police team raided the Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) area under Gorchuk police station of the capital this morning and arrested a smuggler and recovered a huge amount of fake Indian currency from him.
Police sources said today that during the raid, fake Indian notes worth about Rs 70 lakh were seized. The team of ISBT police post along with the team of Special Operation Group (SOG) have raided and arrested a person on the basis of secret information.
The arrested person has been identified as Hafiz Ali. The accused is said to be originally a resident of Gogamukh under Dhemaji district of Upper Assam. At present the police is intensively interrogating the arrested accused.
