Mirzapur, 19 October (HIST). A Nilgai was injured after being hit by an unknown vehicle on Saturday night near Amoi village on Lalganj-Kalwari road under Madihan police station area. Some people took the wild animal to the roadside and started slaughtering it. Someone informed this to Patehra police. When the police reached the spot, many people ran away but a young man was caught. The police buried the Nilgai in a pit.
Near Amoi village, the wild animal strayed from the herd and came on the road and got injured after being hit by the vehicle. Hearing the noise, some people from nearby reached the spot. Some people took the injured animal to the roadside and started cutting it. During this time he died. Someone informed the Patehara police about the incident. Police reached the spot. Taking advantage of the darkness, some people escaped but one young man was caught by the police. The police have taken the young man into custody and are interrogating him.
Incharge Inspection Madihan Pradeep Kumar Singh said that the wild animal had died in a road accident. Which some people dragged for cutting. Police arrived after receiving information. The carcass of the animal has been buried.
