Jagdalpur, 30 August (HS). The Bodhghat police station of the district has arrested an accused with 19 kg of illegal ganja and sent him on judicial remand. The police received information that a young man was waiting for a bus at the new bus stand in Jagdalpur to transport the narcotic substance ganja in two big bags. On receiving the information, a police team was immediately formed and sent for action.
The above team reached the new bus stand in Jagdalpur and laid a siege. On the basis of suspicion, the suspected youth was surrounded and captured. Upon interrogation, he revealed his name to be Ravi Oyam, s/o Budharu Oyam, age 24 years, resident of Nerli Oyam Para Bacheli, district Dantewada. 9.500 kg of ganja was found in a bag in his possession and 9.500 kg in another bag, totaling 19 kg of narcotic substance ganja. Upon interrogation, he revealed that he was transporting the ganja in his possession from Orissa for sale. A total of 19 kg of narcotic substance ganja, an Itel company mobile, cash amount of Rs. 500 were confiscated from the accused's possession and the accused was arrested under 20(B) NDPS Act and after the action, he was sent to judicial remand today, Friday.
