New Delhi: Delhi's historic Shahi Jama Masjid is once again going to witness a major change. On February 25, Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Bukhari will announce the name of his son and Naib Imam Osama Shaban Bukhari as his successor. Shaban will be crowned as the royal Imam on this occasion. In this turban ceremony, the Shahi Imam himself will tie his son's turban with his own hands.

Shahi Imam Bukhari said that it has been a tradition that every Shahi Imam announces his successor during his lifetime. However, they will continue to perform their duties even after this ceremony. If there is any problem due to health reasons in the near future, Shaban will do the rest of the work during this time. In this way, the way will be cleared for Shaban Bukhari to become the 14th Shahi Imam. Remember, Shaban was made Naib Shahi Imam in 2014. After his turban as Naib Imam, training has been taking place in the country and abroad in all matters related to the religion.
