On the third Monday, water was taken from Munger Ghat and Jalabhishek was done at Baba Bhuvneshwar Dham

Saharsa, 5 August (HS). On the third Monday of the holy month of Sawan, a flood of devotees gathered at Baba Bhuvneshwar Dham located in Chakbharo Panchayat of Simri Bakhtiyarpur block of the district. Thousands of devotees from far and wide reached Baba Bhuvneshwar Dham on foot with Kavar after collecting water from Munger Ghat, where the devotees prayed for their wishes by offering water to the Shivling with Ganga water, Bel leaves and milk. The devotees started coming from Munger Ghat from 3 am on Monday. Special arrangements were made by the fair committee for the convenience and safety of the devotees. A medical team was also arranged.

On Sunday, a group of bike Kanwarias left for Munger Ghat. On Monday morning, Jalabhishek was done at Bhuneshwar Dham with chants of Shiva. On Monday, as the day progressed, the crowd of devotees started increasing. Different entry routes to the temple have been made for the devotees. The temple committee has also made arrangements for food and accommodation of the devotees coming from far off places. As the day progressed, the crowd of devotees kept increasing and puja continued till late evening.

Jyotish Jha, the priest of the temple, said that this wonderful Shivling of Lord Shiva Baba Bhuvaneshwar Dham is quite amazing for the devotees. Every wish of the people asked here is fulfilled. The height of the Shivling increases by 1 inch every year.

On this occasion, Religious Trust Council, Temple Committee Chairman Purushottam, Secretary Manish Kumar, Treasurer Sudhir Kumar Singh, members Anil Kumar Verma, Naveen Kumar Verma, former Panchayat Samiti member Sanjay Kumar Singh, Ashish Kumar Verma, Temple Committee members Bhagwat Prasad Mehta, Ramdev Prasad Singh, Phoolon Singh, Ashish Verma, Anand Ravindra, Chotu Nitish, Shivaay Verma, Shambhu Kumar Singh, besides villagers were present. Due to the efforts of the temple committee and the villagers, a fair is held here daily during the 30 days of Sawan. Devotees from far-off places like Madhepura, Supaul, Khagaria, Mansi, Munger, Bhagalpur come here and perform Jalabhishek on the Shivaling.

Villagers say that the height of the Shivling of the temple increases by 1 inch every year. Hundreds of years ago, during the excavation of the pond, two small Shivlings were found which were installed on a suitable mound. At present, the height of the Shivling has increased considerably. It is believed that whoever does Jalabhishek on the Shivling with a true heart, Lord Shiva fulfills his wishes.
