Varanasi, August 19 (HS). On the fifth and last Monday of the month of Sawan, the saffron city of Kashi's lord Shiva is visible everywhere. In Baba's golden court, a continuous stream of water is falling on the holy Jyotirling with full devotion. On the last Monday of Sawan, with Shobhan Yoga, Ravi Yoga and Sarvarth Siddhi Yoga, on the occasion of Rakshabandhan festival, Shiva devotees are delighted to see Baba's tableau and do Jalabhishek. The entire Dham complex is resonating with the eternal proclamation of devotees, Har Har Mahadev, Kashi Vishwanath's pillars.
On the fifth Monday, as per tradition, Baba's swing decoration will take place in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple in the evening. The Shiv family will be made to sit on the swing. Before this, lakhs of Shiv devotees started queuing up at the barricades from Sunday evening itself for darshan and pujan in the court. When the doors of the temple opened after Mangala Aarti in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple in the morning, the Chief Executive Officer of the Temple Trust Vishwa Bhushan Mishra and other officials showered rose petals on the devotees standing in the queue. Filled with respect, Shiv devotees kept reaching the court for Baba's worship by walking on the red carpet.
This sequence will continue uninterrupted for the whole day and till late evening. According to the temple trust, till 9 am, 98 thousand 603 Shiva devotees had visited and worshipped Baba. Before this on Sunday, from dawn till shayan aarti, 1 lakh 78 thousand 293 Shiva devotees visited and worshipped in the temple. Regular visitors were given entry from Kashi Dwar from 4 to 5 in the morning. After performing Jalabhishek on the Jyotirling in the court from the vessel made outside, the devotees with a delighted feeling after having the tableau of Baba, kept praising the grand and new expanded form of Kashi Vishwanath Dham wholeheartedly.
The district administration and temple management have also deployed doctors, ambulances and NDRF teams for the convenience of the devotees. From drinking water to lost and found centre, public address system has also been installed. Devotees are viewing Shri Kashi Vishwanath on LED screens before the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. To reach the darbar, devotees are reaching the darbar in a zigzag queue through the carpet laid between the steel railings. On one side, the queue of people coming to Baba Darbar is from Godaulia to Baba Darbar and on the other side it was from Ganga to Baba Darbar. In the city filled with Shiva, faith is seen united from Gangaghat to Baba Darbar. The enthusiasm of Baba's devotees Kanwariyas wearing saffron clothes is visible. Even outside the Dham and temple premises, police officers are continuously patrolling to make the security arrangements foolproof.
On the last Monday, all vehicles have been banned except pedestrians from Maidagin to Godaulia, Sonarpur Square, from Gurubagh to Ramapura, Beniabagh Tiraha, from Broadway Tiraha via Sonarpur to Godaulia, from Bhelupur to Ramapura Square.
Social organizations engaged in serving the devotees
On the fifth Monday, social organizations, civil security organizations along with SP BJP workers have set up camps at various places to serve the devotees and devotees of Lord Shiva lined up in the court. A flood of devotees is thronging to perform Jalabhishek in all the big and small Shiva temples of the city including Omkareshwar Mahadev, Mahamrityunjay, Shultankeshwar Mahadev, Tilbhandeshwar Mahadev, Gauri Kedareshwar, Trilochan Mahadev, Rameshwar Mahadev, Karmadeshwar Mahadev, Sarangnath, Gautameshwar Mahadev, Jageshwar Mahadev. Extra caution is being taken at Dashashwamedh Ghat in view of the rise in the water level in the Ganga. Three entry routes to Kashi Vishwanath Dham have been closed. Police is on alert on the roads leading to all the major Ganga Ghats including Dashashwamedh Ghat. Devotees are being warned through loud hailers to be cautious while bathing in the Ganga. Boating has been completely banned. Water police and NDRF's 11th battalion jawans are patrolling in the Ganga.
In the same sequence, there is an unbroken queue of devotees for Jalabhishek on the last Monday of Shravan month at Markandeya Mahadev Dham located at Chaubepur Kaithi. Devotees had reached the court since Sunday evening. The district administration has done barricading at various places for the safety of the devotees and easy darshan. All types of vehicles are being stopped at Kaithi Tirahe, three kilometers before the Dham. After taking a dip in the Ganga-Gomti Sangam, devotees are reaching Markandeya Mahadev Dham for darshan, worship and Jalabhishek. Along with the last and fifth Monday, there is also the festival of Rakshabandhan, so there is a large crowd of local devotees.
