Lucknow, August 23 (HS). The Yogi government decided to attract children of all council schools of the state towards 'space science and technology' and organized a special event for school children on National Space Day. On the occasion of National Space Day on Friday, children were introduced to the mysteries of space on the theme 'Touching Lives While Touching the Moon: India's Space Saga'. During this, special programs were organized in the council schools of the state including upper primary, composite and KGB schools in which 1.32 lakh children of the state participated.

On 23 August 2023, India introduced the world to its space capabilities. This was the first occasion when 'National Space Day' was celebrated in India. With the success of Chandrayaan-3 with the landing of Vikram Lander on the surface of the Moon and the deployment of Pragyan Rover on this day, India became the fourth country in the world to land on the Moon and the first country to land near the South Pole of the Moon.

Various activities and lectures held in schools

On the occasion of 'National Space Day' being celebrated on the theme 'Touching the Moon and Touching Life: India's Space Story', many competitions were held in council schools. Children drew pictures related to Chandrayaan-3 and ISRO through art, while some students drew pictures of the moon and stars related to space. During this, many sessions were held in which teachers introduced children to the mysteries of space science and gave various types of information. Teachers showed complete dedication towards making children aware of space science and technology through activities. Children were also told about the importance of National Space Day. During this, special classes based on ISRO's space achievements (such as Aditya, space technology) were conducted. Workshops were conducted and sessions of exhibitions and lectures etc. were also conducted. A special 30-minute video film by NCERT, New Delhi based on Chandrayaan module was also shown to the children. During this, audio-visual materials available on Diksha, Nishtha App and PMI Vidya Channel were also used. A dialogue related to space science was also established by inviting eminent personalities from the society as special guests.

In this regard, Basic Education Minister (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh said that modern and contemporary knowledge is given to council children on special days. Attracting children towards 'space science and technology' on National Space Day is also one such effort. During this, new and interesting information was provided through various programs and audio-video medium to increase the interest of the children of the state towards space science.
