China has suffered a major setback on the issue of Arunachal Pradesh. America said that Arunachal is a part of India. We oppose any attempt to claim any territory across the Line of Actual Control (LAC). America has given this statement after China's claim.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to Arunachal on 9 and 10 March. He inaugurated Sela Tunnel at an altitude of 13 thousand feet. After this, China had opposed the PM's visit on March 11. The Chinese army claimed Arunachal as its part. Built at a cost of Rs 825 crore, this tunnel will allow troops and weapons to reach forward locations along the LAC within a few hours.
America opposes aggression
At a daily briefing on Wednesday, US State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedanta Patel said the United States recognizes Arunachal Pradesh as Indian territory. Any kind of intrusion is wrong here. We strongly oppose any unilateral attempt to claim any territory through military, civilian infiltration or encroachment along the Line of Actual Control.
China named census of Arunachal
China calls Arunachal Pradesh as South Tibet. They named him 'Jangnan'. On March 11, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin had described Arunachal Pradesh as Chinese territory. Our government has never recognized the illegally settled Arunachal Pradesh. We oppose it even today. This is a part of China and India cannot do anything arbitrarily here.
In response, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal rejected China's claim as absurd and reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh was, is and will remain an integral part of India.
