Omar Abdullah swearing-in ceremony: For the first time after the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference-Congress alliance won the assembly elections and Omar Abdullah was elected the first Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Today (Wednesday, October 16) Omar Abdullah is going to take oath, preparations for which have been completed.

Officials said the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister and his cabinet members will be held at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) on Wednesday. At 11:30 am, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will administer the oath of secrecy to everyone.

Tight security arrangements have been made around the site of the swearing-in ceremony. Due to the presence of many VVIPs in the program, security arrangements have been tightened. Invitation letters have been sent to the constituent parties of India Alliance to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

National Conference (NC) Kashmir state president Nasir Aslam Wani said it was not yet clear who would attend the event. However, a senior Congress leader has informed that Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi will attend the swearing-in ceremony. Along with this, Chief Ministers and representatives of some states will also participate in this program.

The names of possible ministers of Omar Abdullah cabinet have also been revealed. It is believed that Sakina Itu, Saifullah Mir, Abdul Rahim Rather, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Surinder Chaudhary, Farooq Shah, Nazir Ahmed and Ahmed Mir can also join the cabinet.
