Officials investigate into thousands of empty packets of government nutrition found in Chatra

Chatra, 2 December (Hindustan Reporter). On Monday, officials conducted an investigation after thousands of empty packets of nutritional food were found on the Bandarchua-Gangpur road on the border of Pathalgada and Gidhaur blocks of the district. The officers who arrived to investigate were stunned to see thousands of packets found on the roadside. For the first time, empty packets of nutritious food supplied in Anganwadi centers were found in large quantities.

In many places between Bandarchua and Gangpur, huge quantities of sacked nutritious food packets have been found on the roads and roadsides. There are still thousands of packets scattered in the road and on the roadside. After the matter came to media, the appropriate Ramesh Gholap formed the investigation team and directed to submit the report soon. On Monday, Simaria SDM Sunny Raj examined the empty packets. Along with him, Pathalgada BDO Kalinder Sahu, CO Udal Ram, Giddhaur BDO Rahul Dev, Itkhori BDO cum CDPO Somnath Bankira and others reached the border of Pathalgada and Giddhaur blocks and inspected empty packets and closed sacks. He kept some packets which were of different colors and the empty sack for examination. He also inquired about this from the people nearby.

SDO Sunny Raj took information about nearby Anganwadi centres. He reached Gangpur along with Pathalgada and Gidhaur BDOs and inspected an Anganwadi centre. Here, information was obtained about the nutrition given to children including pregnant and lactating women. He also interrogated the beneficiaries. Also, the maid and assistant of Anganwadi center were questioned about this for a long time. He matched the nutritional food given to the beneficiaries.

Many necessary guidelines were given to District Social Welfare Officer and Anganwadi Supervisor Sangeeta Kumari present on this occasion. He directed to interrogate the beneficiaries including checking the stock register, distribution register in all the Anganwadi centres. He said that how so many empty packets came here is being investigated and action will be taken against those who are found guilty. He also said that the concerned agency and supplier will also be questioned about the empty packets of nutritional food found on the roadside. All CDPOs and supervisors have been instructed to conduct nutrition related tests in Anganwadi centres.
