Officers should determine the route chart for the polling stations of their respective sectors: District Magistrate

Sheopur, April 12 (Hindustan Reporter) District Magistrate and District Election Officer Lokesh Kumar Jangid, while presiding over the joint meeting of sector and police officers held in the Collectorate hall on Friday, directed that sector officers have been appointed for Sheopur and Vijaypur assembly constituencies for peaceful voting. 10 to 12 polling stations have been included in a sector. Sector officers should determine the route chart for the polling stations of their respective sectors and manage time by estimating the time taken to reach the polling stations, so that If necessary, they can immediately reach the polling station.

The District Magistrate said that adequate lighting should be arranged at the polling stations, along with this the arrangements for electricity, water, toilets etc. should be observed as per the instructions of the Election Commission. In polling stations where resources are required or repairs need to be done, the report should be provided to the concerned ARO. Similarly, departmental officers should also ensure that all basic facilities are available in the polling stations set up in their buildings.

He said that information about polling stations having shadow areas should also be provided. Such polling stations where there is additional room in the building can be used as waiting room for voters. He said that home voting facility has been made available for voters above 85 years of age and disabled voters on the basis of 12D form. The Sector Officer should also keep all important mobile numbers in his diary. Women managed booths will be built in urban areas, proper lighting arrangements should be made outside the premises of such polling stations also.

It is noteworthy that under the Lok Sabha elections, 35 sector officers have been appointed in Sheopur assembly constituency and 33 sector officers have been appointed in Vijaypur assembly constituency. In the meeting, Additional District Magistrate and Deputy District Election Officer Dr. AK Rohatgi, Additional Superintendent of Police Satendra Singh Tomar, Sub-Divisional Revenue Officer Manoj Garhwal, BS Srivastava, Udayveer Singh Sikarwar, Deputy District Magistrate Sanjay Jain, SDOP Rajeev Gupta, Shri Praveen Asthana and other sector and police were present. Officers were present.

Sector and police officers should jointly visit: Abhishek: Superintendent of Police Abhishek Anand directed that boundary overs should be done in the villages of polling stations by identifying such anti-social elements who are likely to create disturbance during the elections. Under this, various pressure groups should be identified and restrictive action should also be ensured. Sector and police officers should visit their respective areas and ensure measures are taken to end vulneravity in those areas which fall under the category of vulneraval. To create a fear-free environment during the elections, restrictive action by the District Magistrate and NSA should be taken against anti-social elements.
