Khunti, 25 September (HS). Deputy Commissioner Lokesh Mishra has given clear instructions to all the zonal officers and police station in-charges of the district that the police station in-charge and the zonal officer should run special campaigns by identifying the purchase, sale and cultivation of narcotics in their respective areas in mutual coordination.
The Deputy Commissioner was presiding over the meeting of Narco Coordination Center on Wednesday. Various points were discussed in the meeting for the control of narcotics. All the points of the reports submitted by the officials related to the Police Department and ENCORD were reviewed in the meeting.
Also, necessary instructions were given to the concerned officers. In the meeting, it was directed to keep special vigil on the district borders and areas around schools. In order to promote alternative agriculture in order to run the campaign against illegal opium cultivation, all the zonal officers were directed to make people aware. In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner also directed to ensure raids and other actions. The Deputy Commissioner said that we need to continue continuous action by running the de-addiction campaign on a priority basis.
He directed all the concerned officers to conduct necessary raids in this direction. Also, prompt and legal action should be ensured against the culprits.
