Collector Namrata Gandhi and SP Anjaneya Varshney held a meeting of the concerned officials regarding preparations and law and order in view of the general elections 2024-25 of urban bodies and three-tier panchayats in the Collectorate meeting room today on December 7. During this, he has given instructions to ensure all preparations for conducting the upcoming local body and panchayat elections in a smooth and transparent manner.

Collector Namrata Gandhi has asked all the departments to work in mutual coordination so that the elections can be conducted in a fair and fearless manner, for this she has also given necessary instructions. Kotwar has been asked to keep alert in sensitive centres, hold meetings of health workers and gather information for health assistance. Besides, instructions have been given to identify those who create unrest and keep an eye on them, to improve electricity, water, cleanliness, toilets etc. in polling stations. At the same time, the Collector has given instructions to appoint sector officers for sensitive centres, appoint women workers for voting and counting, organize voter awareness programs, take help of Red Cross, NCC, NSS volunteers and continue cordial talks with the people. So that necessary information can be received on time. The Collector directed the administration and police staff to ensure that they work cautiously and responsibly to conduct the urban body and three-tier Panchayat elections in a fair and fearless manner. He asked to establish coordination and take action on paddy procurement centres, illegal mining, transportation, illegal liquor and encroachment. Along with this, the Collector has given instructions to appoint sector officers in sensitive polling stations and to create a joint control room of administration and police administration at the block level.

SP Varshney said that mobile police stations should be organized in the villages, so that more and more people are connected and information about the incident is received on time. To keep an eye on the miscreants, community programs should be organized in the villages. Also, WhatsApp group of such villages will be formed, so that information about every dispute can be received in advance. Public representatives of villages, rural, administrative and police officials will be included in such WhatsApp group. A separate WhatsApp group of Kotwars will be created. Police Mitras (village youth), volunteers will be prepared, so that information can be received in advance and help can be provided at the time of elections. Reconstitution of peace committee, internet media monitoring team, discussion with journalists, identification of sensitive booths, safe transportation of ballot boxes to the polling station and adequate force will be appointed for return after counting. Adequate force will be arranged for the security of strong rooms and polling stations. He has asked to establish coordination between police and administration to prepare the police force for the election environment.
