
Jaipur, 1 April (HS). Odisha Foundation Day was celebrated at Raj Bhavan on Monday. During this, Governor Kalraj Mishra interacted with the local people of Odisha and congratulated them on their Foundation Day.
Governor Mishra said that Odisha is a state with vibrant culture with rich traditional heritage. Describing Odisha as the land of Lord Jagannath and Linganath, he said that this land associated with the Indian tradition of spirituality is also the richest in the Indian tradition of art.
Discussing the caves of Konark, Udayagiri and Khandagiri, he said that everyone should contribute in preserving our artistic heritage. He discussed the famous Kalinga war in world history and the change of heart of Emperor Ashoka and called for working for human values.
Remembering the rich past of Odisha, Mishra stressed on working with continuous commitment for the future development. Earlier, the local people of Odisha shared their experiences of living in Rajasthan and the culture of Odisha. In the beginning, the Governor made everyone read the Preamble of the Constitution and read out the Fundamental Duties. On this occasion, Secretary to the Governor Gaurav Goyal and Chief Officer Govind Ram Jaiswal were present.
