Odisha FC will try to stop the winning chariot of Mohun Bagan Super Giant

Bhubaneswar, 23 April (Hindustan Reporter). Odisha FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giants will lock horns in the first leg of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 semi-final at the Kalinga Stadium here this evening.

Mohun Bagan topped the points table and qualified for the semi-finals by becoming ISL 2023-24 League Winners. On the other hand, Odisha FC defeated Kerala Blasters FC in the playoffs to reach the semi-finals. These two teams have faced each other several times in the ISL and AFC Cup during this season.

Odisha would have taken confidence from their win at home against the Yellow Army in the last match and will be hoping for a positive result this time too. Similarly, the Mohun Bagan super giants will be high on confidence after their win over Mumbai City FC in the final league decider at the Salt Lake Stadium last week. They are set to take on Odisha FC.

During a large part of the season, Odisha FC were in the race for the top two spots in the table. However, due to some poor results, she finished fourth in the table with 39 points. In contrast, the Mariners swept the Islanders by winning four of their last five games.

Odisha FC's Spanish head coach Sergio Lobera said in the pre-match conference on Monday, “They have a very good team. Our team is also very good and we are undefeated in Kalinga. “We want to continue that momentum at home and we have given them a very tough fight in the last four matches.”

Mohun Bagan Super Giant's Spanish head coach Antonio Lopez Habas said in the pre-match press conference, “The entire team is available to play in this match. “It has been very difficult to have all the players available in the last few matches, it is usually not possible for a long period of time.”

Let us tell you that till now 9 matches have been played between the two teams, in which Mohun Bagan Super Giant has won 4 and 5 matches have been drawn, whereas the Odisha team has not got a single win.
