New Delhi: The Supreme Court has strongly commented on the bulldozer action and said that people's safety comes first and if there is any religious structure on the road then it is necessary to remove it. The court made this comment during the hearing of several petitions in the Supreme Court against running bulldozers on the properties of people involved in criminal cases. It also said that we may announce specific guidelines for the entire country regarding removal of religious places or any other construction that creates obstruction.

The Supreme Court said that the safety of people is important, if there is any religious structure somewhere between the road, water or railway and it creates obstruction then it is necessary to remove it. If any temple or mosque or dargah is an obstacle to public safety, it should be removed. India is a secular country and our order on bulldozer action will apply to all citizens irrespective of religion.

The Supreme Court bench of Justice BR Gavi and Justice KV Vishwanathan said that since we are a secular country, our order will apply equally to everyone. If any temple, mosque, gurudwara or dargah is built in the middle of the road and is an obstruction to the public, it should be removed. There should be a law for illegal construction and it should not depend on any religion. The Supreme Court had said on September 17 that bulldozers will not be operated anywhere in the country without our permission.

Many petitions against bulldozer action. Earlier, the Supreme Court had banned bulldozer justice. On this order of the Supreme Court, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, present on behalf of the Central Government, said. The Court may inadvertently influence a certain society. This will encourage discussion. After which the Supreme said that we are a secular country, our order will apply equally to people of all religions or communities. We clarified that we have not given any order against removal of religious places that obstruct any public place. If there is a religious place in the middle of the road then it should not cause any problem to the people. We can create a specific guideline to remove such restrictive constructs. The Supreme Court also reserved its decision by maintaining an interim stay on the bulldozer action.
