Shahjahanpur, 25 September (HS). Some people of the village behaved indecently with the female Gram Panchayat officer who had come to capture stray bovine animals. On the complaint of the Gram Panchayat officer, the police registered an FIR and arrested two accused.

Kant in-charge inspector Ashwani Kumar said that a female Gram Panchayat officer posted in development block Dadraul was catching stray cattle and locking them in a trolley along with the cleaning staff on the night of September 24. During this, Munijar, Sher Singh etc. of Pipraula Ahmedpur village, under the influence of alcohol, obstructed government work and touched the female Gram Panchayat officer inappropriately while doing obscene acts with her and threatened to kill her.

He said that on the complaint of the Gram Panchayat Officer, an FIR was lodged against the accused at Kant police station under sections of obstruction in government work and other serious sections. On Thursday morning, on the information of an informer, the police arrested Munijar (61) and Sher Singh (63) from near a kiln on Kant Shahjahanpur Road.

The Inspector in-charge said that both the accused were produced before the court from where they were sent to jail.
