The pollution level is increasing in Delhi. Delhi's air is becoming poisonous day by day. Now an increase in the air quality index is also being seen in winter. Viral diseases like dengue, chicken pox and malaria are increasing rapidly in Delhi. A huge increase in the number of dengue patients has been recorded in hospitals and nursing homes.
According to the data of Delhi Municipal Corporation, 4533 dengue patients have been reported so far in the year 2024. This includes 472 patients from the month of November. According to the data released by MCD, so far this year, 728 cases of malaria and 172 cases of chikungunya have been reported in Delhi.
9266 cases were reported in 2023
According to Delhi Municipal Corporation, 1072 cases of dengue were reported in the year 2020. Whereas 9613 cases were reported in 2021, 4469 in 2022, 9266 in 2023. A total of 472 cases have been reported in the month of November. So far, 455 dengue cases have been reported from MCD area, 1 from NDMC area, 15 from Delhi Cantt and 1 from Railway area. If this continues, there is a possibility that this time more than 2023 cases will be registered. Because the next two months are considered very serious from dengue point of view.
728 cases of malaria were reported
As far as malaria is concerned, 228 cases have been reported in 2020, 167 in 2021, 263 in 2022, 426 in 2023 and 728 cases have been reported so far in 2024. This includes 19 cases from last week.
Number of Chikungunya patients 172
The number of chikungunya patients is 111 in 2020, 89 in 2021, 48 in 2022, 65 in 2023 and 172 cases in 2024 so far.
There were positive reports of mosquito infestation in 270265 houses.
Various campaigns by MCD are already underway to prevent the rise in cases of dengue, malaria and chikungunya in Delhi. This includes spraying medicines, inspecting houses, giving legal notices to change the bad conditions due to mosquito breeding. According to the information, till now the medicine has been sprayed in 21,20,717 houses of the corporation area. Till now, reports of mosquito breeding in 2,70,265 houses have also come positive. Legal notices have also been issued at 1,53,451 places.
