Chandigarh: NREGA Worker Front India expressed grief over the death of four workers in the road accident and demanded a compensation of Rs 25 lakh each to the victim families. Front President Resham Singh Kahlo said that NREGA workers were working on the roadside on Sunam Patiala Road.

A canter ran over these workers. This accident was so terrible that four workers died on the spot. Kahlon has demanded a compensation of Rs 25 lakh each for the victim families and strict action against the canter driver. He said that such incidents have happened before as well. Therefore, the government should insure NREGA workers. General Secretary Gurmukh Singh Dholan Majra and Front leaders Ajaib Singh Bathoi, Sukhwinder Singh, Baljit Singh Kakarali, Avtar Singh have expressed deep grief over this incident.
