NPG approves DPR of proposed East West Corridor of Lucknow Metro

Lucknow, July 10 (HS). In the ambitious project of the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh, the DPR of the proposed East West Corridor of Lucknow Metro has got the approval of NPG. The project has received the approval of the Network Planning Group i.e. NPG in Delhi on July 9, 2024.

In the proposed East West Corridor of Lucknow Metro, the total route length from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj has been decided as 11.165 km. The elevated length is 4.286 km, while the underground length is 6.879 km. The total number of stations in the corridor has been decided as 12. Seven underground and five elevated stations are also to be seen. The completion of the proposed corridor will take an estimated five years. Also, its estimated cost will be Rs 5081 crore.

The East-West Corridor of Lucknow Metro from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj will provide connectivity to major places of old Lucknow like Aminabad, Chowk, etc. It will also connect other congested areas along its route and provide convenience to the people of Lucknow.

The East West Corridor proposed so far will have Charbagh (underground), Gautam Buddha Nagar (underground), Aminabad (underground), Pandeyganj (underground), City Railway Station (underground), Medical Square (underground), Chowk (underground), Thakurganj (elevated), Balaganj (elevated), Sarfarazganj (elevated), Musabagh (elevated) and Vasant Kunj (elevated) metro stations.
