Now you will not have to make rounds for local toll pass, digital facility available on Highway Yatra App

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has given a big relief to the local residents living around the National Highway and the motorists who cross the toll daily. Now the hassle of standing in queues or submitting physical documents to get a local toll pass at the toll plaza is completely over. NHAI has added a new and smart feature of creating digital local pass on its official mobile app ‘RajmargYatra’. Through this modern facility, people living near toll plazas can now get a local toll pass with unlimited travel for a month from their mobile phones in just a few minutes.

People living within a radius of 20 kilometers will get benefits, instant verification through FASTag and DigiLocker.

As per NHAI rules, people whose residence or house falls within a radius of 20 kilometers from any National Highway Toll Plaza are eligible for this digital pass facility. The Highway Yatra app is directly linked to DigiLocker and VAHAN portal of Government of India to make the pass application process extremely secure, fast and transparent. With the user’s consent, the app automatically verifies the vehicle number, active FASTag status and address. This saves time for manual verification and the pass is issued immediately without submitting any additional documents.

Started from Delhi-NCR, the scheme will soon be implemented on the highways of the entire country.

NHAI has started the first successful trial of this digital pass service from Mundka-Bakkarwala Toll Plaza located on Urban Extension Road-2 (UER-2), Delhi. After the successful implementation of this initial pilot project, now NHAI is going to implement this service in a phased manner at all the National Highway Toll Plazas across the country. This will save lakhs of local drivers from wastage of time and money at toll booths every day.
