Metro QR Code Ticket New Service: Passengers traveling in Delhi Metro will now be able to use QR code tickets as Metro smart cards. Metro management has started a trial of starting multiple journey service through QR code tickets. If it is successful, soon the mobile's QR code will work as a Metro smart card. The good thing is that instead of a smart card, a minimum recharge of Rs 100 will have to be done.
Actually, Delhi Metro is increasing the use of QR code ticketing through mobile. For this, it has also launched it by entering into an agreement with different apps. However, right now this QR code ticket can be used only for one-time travel. If you want to travel again, then you will have to generate the QR code ticket again. In the new system, you will be able to travel multiple times by recharging the same QR code like a Metro smart card.
The code will change after a few seconds.
A senior Delhi Metro official said that to prevent fraud or to prevent anyone from taking a screenshot and travelling again, dynamic code has been used in it, due to which the QR code will keep changing after a few seconds. No one will be able to misuse it.
you will get 10% discount
Metro believes that once the multiple journey facility is introduced in QR code ticketing, people will stop using smart cards and focus on it. On QR code ticketing, 10% discount on fare will continue to be available during non-peak hours, just like smart cards.
