To call a doctor in case of illness during journey, passengers can call a doctor on board the train at the next station by using RailMadad App or by contacting Train Conductor/Travel Ticket Examiner or Train Manager.

A message is sent to the duty station manager of the next station through Rail Madad or train conductor/TTE/train manager, where a team of doctors and paramedics are ready. In this way, as soon as the train reaches the station, the doctor immediately reaches to see the passenger. If the passenger is in more trouble, then he will also be given the facility of admission to the nearest hospital.

Recently, a passenger travelling by train number 22114 Kochuveli-LTT Superfast Express from Madgaon to LTT suffered chest pain. Her family members sought help through Rail Madad. The Deputy Station Superintendent of LTT along with a medical team provided timely assistance and the passenger was taken to the nearest hospital. Timely medical assistance was provided and life was saved. In another case, a woman travelling in 17412 Kolhapur-Mumbai Mahalaxmi Express started experiencing labour pain after the train left Lonavala. On receiving the information, a team was ready in Karjat where the woman was taken to the hospital. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
