Now you will get direct admission in IIM after 12th without giving CAT.

Every year lakhs of students spend sleepless nights preparing for the CAT exam hard and long to get admission in the most prestigious and dream educational institutions of the country i.e. Indian Institutes of Management (IIM). It is the dream of every engineering or commerce graduate to somehow take their career to new heights by obtaining an MBA degree from IIM. But do you know that now you do not need to wait for completion of graduation and crossing the tough hurdle of CAT to get admission in IIM? Yes, many leading IIMs of the country are now giving a golden opportunity to the students for admission directly after 12th class. Promising students who have completed school can now enter the world of management without appearing for CAT exam. Let us know the complete process of getting admission under this special program, the eligibility and what are its major benefits.

This fantastic course run by Indian Institutes of Management is called ‘Integrated Program in Management’ (IPM) i.e. Integrated Course in Management. This course is of total 5 years duration, which is a great combination of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA). This means that students can enroll in this 5-year program as soon as they pass their 12th board exam. The biggest feature of this course is that after graduation, students do not have to prepare for any entrance exam again or face pressure for admission in MBA. Once students are selected in this 5-year course, both their graduation and post-graduation degree is completed from the same reputed institute, which directly gives a rocket like pace to their career.

Keeping in mind the future of the students, some of the early IIMs of the country had started this integrated course, which has today become one of the most popular courses in the country. Currently, top institutes of the country like IIM Indore, IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya are offering this course after 12th. Talking about the eligibility to get admission in this course, it is mandatory for the student to have passed 12th class from any recognized board with at least 60 percent marks (relaxation as per rules for reserved categories). Apart from this, the age limit of the students is also determined, under which only young students are considered eligible to appear in this examination.

Since CAT exam is not required for admission to this course, IIMs conduct their own separate entrance exam or recognize the scores of a special aptitude test. For example, IIM Indore conducts its own ‘IPMAT’ (IPM Aptitude Test), while IIM Rohtak and other institutes also conduct their own exams. In this entrance examination, multiple choice questions mainly related to Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability are asked. Students who perform well in the written examination are then called for the next stage of Personal Interview (PI) and WAT i.e. Written Ability Test.
