Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme in February 2024 this year. Under this scheme, up to 300 units of free electricity is available and along with this, strong subsidy is also given by the government for installing solar rooftop on the roof of your house. This scheme of the government is becoming very popular and the number of its customers is continuously increasing in Uttar Pradesh. Let us know how you can avail the benefit of this scheme and what is the mathematics of subsidy…
43000 solar panels installed in UP
First of all, let us talk about Uttar Pradesh where the government has planned to develop Ayodhya as a solar city and work on it has also started. According to the target set by the government, there is a plan to install 25 lakh solar rooftop panels in the state within 3 years and till now 43,000 people have installed solar panels in the state. Not only this, the people who got them installed seem completely satisfied.
1.30 crore registrations till now
It takes up to a month for the subsidy to be released under this scheme (Free Electricity Scheme Subsidy). But the government is preparing to settle this also in just 7 days. If we talk about the number of applicants, this figure is continuously increasing. According to PIB, till now 1.30 crore people have registered under this free electricity scheme, while about 18 lakh applications have been received.
This is how the government transfers subsidies
Under this scheme, solar panels are installed on the roof of the house, on which the government gives subsidy. This reduces the electricity bill. Also you can generate more electricity and sell it to the government. On installation of solar rooftop, the government transfers the subsidy money directly to the bank account. This reduces the burden of installing solar panels. The government gives subsidy of Rs 30 thousand per kilowatt up to 2 kilowatts, Rs 48 thousand per kilowatt up to 3 kilowatts and Rs 78000 per kilowatt above 3 kilowatts.
