New Delhi: The government has issued an important order banning women from wearing burqa in public places. A new law has come into effect that now women will not be able to wear burqa in public places.

Burqa has been banned in Switzerland. Wearing clothes that cover the eyes, mouth and nose and wearing face masks have been banned. This strict legal action will be implemented only next year. The government said on Wednesday that it will come into effect from January 1. The Swiss government said that those who violate this deadline will be fined.

Muslim women wear burqa when they go out of the house as per the tradition of Islam. But burqa is banned in some countries. Burqa cannot be worn in public places in countries like France, China, Denmark, Bulgaria, Austria, Belgium etc. Now Switzerland has also taken a similar important decision. A strict law has been passed that bans the wearing of the burqa in public places.

Switzerland's ruling People's Party has banned the burqa. This bill has also received approval from the upper house of the Swiss Parliament. Also, in the referendum of 2021, many people agreed on the burqa ban. But the Swiss government's decision to ban the burqa is being strongly opposed. This strict rule will come into effect from January 1, 2025. If someone violates the rule then 1,000 Swiss Franc i.e. approximately Rs 96,280. According to Reuters news agency report, the government said in its order that a fine will be imposed.

The government said the burqa can be worn on aircraft, diplomatic venues, holy places and places of worship. Burqas and face masks may be worn for health and safety, extreme cold, advertising and entertainment purposes. The Swiss government has said that a burqa or face mask can be worn for personal protection without endangering public order if the relevant authority grants prior permission.
