News India Live, Digital Desk: WhatsApp has made a revolutionary change in its web version (web.whatsapp.com). Till now, voice and video call facility was limited only to mobile app or desktop app of Windows/Mac. But now, you can go straight to your Chrome, Firefox or Edge You will be able to call from the browser only.

Who will get this feature? (Availability)

Getting Started for Beta Users: Currently this feature has been released for some selected users associated with the ‘Beta Program’ of WhatsApp Web.

Rollout for all: In the coming few weeks it will be made available to all general users around the world.

How to call on WhatsApp Web? (How to Use)

Open web version: Open web.whatsapp.com on your computer’s browser and log in by scanning the QR code from your mobile.

Select Chat: Open the chat window of the person you want to call.

Click on the call button: At the top right of the chat, you Voice call (Phone icon) And Video call (Camera icon) New buttons will appear.

Allow: On making a call for the first time, the browser will ask you for permission to use the microphone and camera, select ‘Allow’.

End-to-End Encryption: Like mobile, calls made through the web will also be completely secure and private.
