7th Pay Commission DA Hike: There is good news for central employees. Before Diwali, the Modi government at the Center had increased the dearness allowance of more than one crore central employees by 3%, after which the DA has increased from 50 to 53%. Since the new rates have come into effect from July 2024, arrears of July, August and September will also be available. Along with this, now before the new year, the Central Government has increased the allowances of some employees by 2 times.

According to the recommendation of the Seventh Pay Commission, when dearness allowance crosses 50%, other allowances including HRA should be increased, under this, in the last months, different departments of the Central Government had increased 13 major allowances by 25%. . This included allowances like HRA, Special Allowance, Education Allowance. Now the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW) has increased the Dress Allowance and Nursing Allowance for some eligible employees.

These employees will get benefits

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW) has increased the dress allowance and nursing allowance by 25%. The ministry has made this announcement as part of the increase in other allowances after the 50% DA hike. The benefit of revision in both these allowances will be applicable to all hospitals under the Central Government and Union Territories as well as Central Government aided bodies such as AIIMS New Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh and JIPMER Pondicherry.

At present central employees get these allowances

House Rent Allowance or HRA, Space Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, Special Allowance for Children of Women with Disabilities, Children’s Education Allowance, Hotel Stay Allowance, Reimbursement for travel within the city, Daily Allowance, Dress Allowance etc. Additionally, the maximum limit of retirement gratuity and death gratuity has been increased by 25% from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh with effect from January 1, 2024.
