Meanwhile, a ban has been imposed on prasad bought from the market at the Mankameshwar temple in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Restrictions on market offerings
After the Tirupati Laddu controversy, Mahant Divyagiri of Mankameshwar Temple said, 'Prasad brought from outside will not be offered in the temple. Devotees should give prasad or dry fruits prepared at home to the priest for offering in the sanctum sanctorum. This arrangement will come into effect from Monday (September 23) morning.'
What is the Tirupati temple dispute?
A few days ago, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made serious allegations against the previous Jagan Mohan Reddy government, citing a lab report. He claimed, 'Lab tests have confirmed the presence of animal fat in a sample of ghee, which was being used to prepare Tirupati temple's laddu prasad.'
In the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, this contract was given to AR Dairy, a company that supplies ghee to the Tirupati temple. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Congress President YS Sharmila Reddy met Governor Abdul Nazir at Raj Bhavan on Saturday evening and requested a CBI inquiry into the alleged adulteration of ghee used in Tirumala Laddu Prasadam. Former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has also filed a petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court demanding a judicial commission to investigate Chandrababu Naidu's allegations. He alleged that the TDP is making such baseless allegations for political gains.
