The circulation of Rs 2000 note has stopped in the country. Now important information has been given by the Reserve Bank of India regarding this note.
RBI has given a new update regarding this note that due to the work related to annual accounting in banks, you will not get the facility to exchange or deposit Rs 2000 notes on the first day of the new month. That means this facility will not be available on April 1, 2024.
This information has been given by quoting RBI. RBI said this facility will not be available on April 1, 2024, but will be restored in 19 regional offices of the central bank on Tuesday.
It is noteworthy that on May 19, 2023, the Reserve Bank of India had announced the removal of Rs 2,000 denomination bank notes from circulation. The bank had asked to deposit the Rs 2,000 notes in banks or exchange them with notes of other denominations. This type of facility has been provided in 19 offices.
