Banda, 14 November (Hindustan Reporter). Banda, pensioners will no longer have to visit offices to get life certificate made. The Postal Department has started a special arrangement for pensioners. Under this, they will be able to get life certificate made sitting at home. For this they just have to contact their nearest post office.

The postman will reach home and help in getting the life certificate made. For this the applicant will have to pay a fee of Rs 70, Aadhar card, mobile number and pension details. After online application, SMS will be sent to the concerned number and after a few days the digital life certificate can be issued and will automatically reach the concerned department online. This will not cause any hindrance in getting pension. This facility is being provided in all post offices through India Post Payments Bank. This information was given by Superintendent Post Office Banda Division Banda Thi G.A. Khan. He said that through the Indian Post Office Department, the facility of providing digital life certificate to pensioners of all departments at home is being provided. India Post Payments Bank in 2020 launched the Door Step Service of Digital Life Certificate to generate Life Certificate for Central, State and Employees Provident Fund Organization (IPFO) pensioners, which is a part of the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare and National Pension System. In coordination with the Informatics Centre.

To avail this facility, pensioners can make an online request to the postman of their area as well as through the Post Info mobile app. For this, the pensioner will have to provide Aadhaar number, mobile number, bank or post office savings account number and PPO number. On completion of the certificate generation process the pensioner will receive a confirmation SMS on his/her mobile number and the certificate can be viewed online after the next day by logging into the app.

Pensioners usually have to submit life certificate to the treasury, bank or related department every year in the month of November for pension. For this, old age pensioners and pensioners from remote areas often have to face difficulties in commuting. Besides, a lot of time is also spent in travelling. In such a situation, this initiative of the Postal Department will provide a lot of convenience to the pensioners. Along with this, pensioners can withdraw pension amount from their bank account through Aadhaar enabled payment system sitting at home through postman.
