Now no public programs will be held without permission, ADGP said- Give NOC only after assessing crowd management

Dehradun, July 3 (HS). Additional Director General of Police (Crime and Law and Order) AP Anshuman held a review meeting at the Police Headquarters on Wednesday and examined the preparations of the police department in view of crowd management at various fairs, religious events and other occasions. Along with this, he held a meeting with all the zone, district in-charges, Inspector General of Police, Security, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Crime and Law and Order, Superintendent of Police and Railway officials through video conferencing and gave necessary instructions.

Additional Director General of Police, Crime and Law and Order, AP Anshuman, directed that the programmes to be organised in the districts should be taken up sensitively in view of crowd management and the station in-charges should go to the spot and assess the crowd capacity, entry-residence gates, parking etc. before giving NOC for the programme.

The Additional Director General of Police said that all the district in-charges should prepare SOPs regarding small and big events taking place in their respective districts and make them available to the Police Headquarters as soon as possible. Thereafter, the Police Headquarters will prepare a detailed SOP for crowd management and make it available to the districts.

Instructions were given to prepare an annual calendar of all the fairs, festivals and programmes to be organised on other occasions in the districts during the year and ensure timely police arrangements accordingly. Any programme will be organised only after permission. Legal action will be taken as per rules against the organisers of programmes organised without permission. The Additional Director General of Police said that publicity should be done regarding applying for permission of the event 15 days in advance. Adequate police arrangements should be made for crowd management in each event. Establish coordination with the officials of the Ashrams and Mathas managed in the districts, get the details of all the programmes to be organised in the year and ensure timely action accordingly.
