PAN 2.0 Project: An important decision may be taken in the Union Cabinet meeting today. PAN 2.0 project was approved in the Modi cabinet meeting yesterday on Monday. Behind which the government’s Rs. A fund of Rs 1435 crore has been allocated. The objective of this scheme is to link PAN card with all the digital systems of government agencies. Which will increase efficiency.
What is the plan?
Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that PAN card is an important part of our life. Which is very important for the middle class and small businessmen. Which will be upgraded with QR code. That means the card will be advanced without changing the PAN number, for which no additional charges will be levied.
PAN 2.0 is a comprehensive upgrade of the Permanent Account Number system. Which simplifies operations by providing a seamless, digital experience to taxpayers. This system will create a centralized portal for all services and government functions related to PAN. Cyber security has also been improved to protect user data.
common business identifier
Under the PAN 2.0 scheme, PAN card will become the common business identifier for all government digital agencies. A QR code will be given in the PAN card. So that taxpayers details can be verified quickly and securely. Cyber security has been strengthened to provide security to taxpayers’ data. Having a completely paperless system will save both the environment and costs.

The time taken for PAN related work will be reduced. It will also remove the deficiencies found in the information of taxpayers and provide accurate details. PAN card holders can upgrade their PAN card for free.
how to apply?
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has clarified that the existing PAN card is valid. Citizens will have to apply for a new PAN number. The card will be upgraded without making any changes to the existing card. In which QR code will be given. The government can implement this scheme soon.
