New Delhi. Delhi Metro has started bike taxi service for the convenience of passengers. This includes special bike taxis for women passengers, which will be driven by women drivers. With the launch of this service, passengers will be able to book bike taxi through Metro’s mobile app DMRC Momentum (Delhi Sarathi 2.0). Keeping in mind the safety of passengers, it will be monitored through GPS.
Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) launched this service on Monday. Rider service is for all passengers. At the same time, the bike taxi service for women has been named SheRides. DMRC says that SheRides service has been started keeping in mind the convenience and safety of women. This will also provide earning opportunity to women bikers.
Facility will be available at these metro stations
DMRC Principal Executive Director (Corporate Communication) Anuj Dayal said that electric bikes are environment friendly. Trained and verified drivers have been appointed. It will be monitored with GPS to ensure passenger safety. In the first phase, 12 metro stations Dwarka Sector-21, Dwarka Sector-10, Dwarka Sector-14, Dwarka Mod, Janakpuri West, Uttam Nagar East, Rajouri Garden, Subhash Nagar, Kirti Nagar, Karol Bagh, Millennium City Center Gurugram and Palam. Bike taxi facility will be available from 8 am to 9 pm.
This facility will be available for an area of three to five kilometers from these stations. After one month, this facility will be started at more than 100 metro stations and in three months at all 250 metro stations.
What will be the fee?
The minimum charge is Rs 10, then Rs 10 per kilometer for the first two kilometers and Rs 8 per kilometer thereafter.
