The latest incident is from Jalandhar Road Kala Sanghya where robbers entered the shop of grocery shopkeeper Raju Sapra late at night and shot the shopkeeper and seriously injured him. According to the information, two robbers entered the shop at around 11 pm with the intention of robbing the grocery shop owner Raju Sapra and shot the shopkeeper in the leg, due to which he was seriously injured. When Nihang Singh Jathedar Hari Singh Kalyanpur, who was passing by, tried to control the accused youths, the robbers attacked him as well. The shopkeeper and Nihang Singh caught one robber along with the motorcycle, but the other escaped. While running away, that robber also fired at the Nihang, but he survived. A total of three shots are being fired in this incident. When the people gathered there questioned the captured robber strictly, he revealed his name as Daljeet alias Pamma son of Ranjeet Singh resident of village Aujla and the name of his escaped accomplice as Raju resident of Ahmedpur district Kapurthala near village Bhetan.

As soon as the incident was reported, DSP Sub Division Kapurthala Harpreet Singh, Thana Sadar Mukharjee Sonamdeep Kaur and local outpost in-charge Amarjit Singh along with the police party reached the spot. People caught the robber and handed over the motorcycle to the police. The shopkeeper injured in the incident is undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Jalandhar. Due to this incident, there is an atmosphere of panic in the area and people are feeling insecure.

In this regard, Inspector Sonamdeep Kaur, head of the Sadar police station, said that raids are being conducted in search of the absconding robber and a case is being registered against both of them under various sections including murder. The SHO said that 5 cases have already been registered against the arrested person under various sections and this accused has come out of jail some time ago. He said that further interrogation will be done and the other robber will also be arrested soon.
