FloodWatch India 2.0 App: Union Minister for Jal Shakti Shri C.R. Patil today (14 August) launched the 'Floodwatch India' mobile app 2.0 developed by the Central Water Commission (CWC) in New Delhi. This app has been launched by the Central Government to protect people from disastrous flood situations. Apart from providing information about the flood situation in the country, an alarm will also sound in the mobile phone with the application installed in case of flood. Along with this, information about 7 days flood forecast will also be made available in this application.

Earlier, flood forecast information was given at 200 forecasting stations. Now the application will provide current information regarding additional 392 flood monitoring stations. With this, the total number of monitoring centers has increased to 592. Using these applications, users will be able to monitor the flood situation across the country. Apart from this, it will also help in better understanding the possible flood situation in low-lying areas. The application provides information about the possibility of floods in the surrounding area, as it is available in audio broadcast format so that people can understand everything by listening to it. This application is designed in such a way that everyone can understand it easily.
Flood situation can be predicted
Developed by the Central Water Commission, 'Floodwatch India' is an app designed for accurate and timely flood forecasting. In this application, users will be provided with complete information through Hindi and English language. In which, using the application, users will be provided with information about the flood situation about their nearest station on the home page itself.
