Now foreign students have become victims of violence in this country, Indian Embassy issued an advisory


A mob has reportedly attacked international students, including a Pakistani student, in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. India and Pakistan on Saturday advised students to stay 'indoors'. The Indian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan tweeted that the situation is calm. “We are in touch with our students,” the embassy said. Amidst all this, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has advised students to stay in regular touch with the embassy by tweeting. He wrote that the safety of Indian students in Bishkek is being monitored. It is being told that now the situation is calm. Students are advised to keep in regular touch with the Embassy.

The Pakistani Embassy in Kyrgyzstan wrote on social media on Saturday that several incidents of mob violence against foreign students in Bishkek have reduced since yesterday evening. Matters heated up yesterday after a video of a May 13 fight between Kyrgyz students and an Egyptian medical student was shared online, according to the Kyrgyz press. According to the Pakistani Embassy, ​​so far some hostels of the Medical University in Bishkek and houses of international students including Pakistanis have been attacked. Students from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh live in the hostel.

The Pakistani Embassy said that several Pakistani students were reported to have suffered minor injuries. Despite social media posts regarding the alleged death and rape of Pakistani students, we have not received any confirmed reports. Soon after, the Pakistani Embassy informed that the Kyrgyz government has confirmed that no Pakistani students have died in the recent violence against international students. Apart from this, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs has also issued a press release saying that the situation is under control.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed concern over the safety of Pakistani students in Bishkek. He posted on X that, I am very concerned about the safety of Pakistani students in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Embassies have been ordered to provide all possible assistance to the students.
