The entire atmosphere is full of enthusiasm due to preparations for the parade, decoration of the tricolor and patriotic songs. But, the other side of the coin is that our country’s enemies sitting across the border find our happiness and unity irritating.

The latest news has alerted the security agencies. Intelligence Input has been received that terrorist organizations are planning to commit some major disturbance on the occasion of 26th January.

Danger not only on January 26, but even before that

Generally we think that the danger is only on the day of the parade, but agencies believe that terrorists may try to attack before January 26 to register their presence. Their objective is only one – to add color to the festival and attract the world’s attention.

After this input, Delhi Police and all the security agencies of the country have come into ‘action mode’.

How are the preparations in the cities?

If you live in Delhi or any big metropolis of the country, you must have seen changes on the roads.

• Fortifications of Delhi: The capital Delhi has almost been turned into a cantonment. Barricading has been increased and vehicles are being checked intensively.
• Metro and Market: The deployment of security forces at crowded places like Connaught Place, Chandni Chowk, and railway stations has been increased manifold.
• Strictness in Jammu and Kashmir: Vigil has also been greatly increased in the border areas so that every attempt of infiltration can be foiled.

Your responsibility as a citizen

The security forces are doing their work diligently, but their biggest strength is “we and you”. Police may not be present everywhere, but the common citizen is everywhere.

• Be alert: If you see any suspicious person or abandoned object (bag, tiffin, toy) around you, do not make the mistake of touching it yourself.
• Notify immediately: Immediately inform the nearest policeman or number 112.
• Be patient: If you are facing some delay during checking, don’t worry. Remember, the soldiers are doing all this for our and your safety only.
