Chandigarh. There will be 96 flights daily from Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Chandigarh during the summer season. The summer schedule will have 22 additional flights compared to the winter schedule. There were only 74 flights in the winter schedule. Directorate General of Civil Aviation has released the domestic flight schedule of Chandigarh Airport. Three new domestic flights have been introduced into the summer schedule.
Now direct flights will be available from Chandigarh to Hisar, Dharamshala and Jammu. CEO Rakesh Ranjan Sahay said that summer time will be implemented from March 31. The airport will remain operational from 5.30 am to 11.45 pm. Passenger traffic at the airport is continuously increasing. On many occasions, 1140 passengers departed from the airport in an hour, while 936 passengers arrived. Passenger traffic from the airport is continuously increasing.
11 new flights added to summer schedule
Three new cities have been added to Chandigarh Airport. Airlines Air has announced new flights to Hisar and Dharamshala and Indigo has announced new flights to Jammu. Along with this, some airlines have started one flight each for Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. About 11 new flights will start in the summer schedule.
Now 6 flights will be parked in the apron area
Parking for flights has also been increased by increasing the apron area at the airport. Earlier, 5 flights were parked at night in the apron area at the airport, but now in the summer schedule, 6 flights can be parked in the apron area at night. Flights landing at the airport after 10 am will take off from the airport the next morning.
There are 12 flights daily between Chandigarh and Delhi.
Maximum flights will operate from Chandigarh to Delhi. In the winter schedule, 8 flights will operate daily from the airport, but in the summer schedule, 12 flights and 24 flights daily will operate from the airport.
6 flights each to Mumbai and Bengaluru, 4 flights each to Jaipur and Srinagar, 2 flights each to Leh and Hyderabad, 3 flights to Ahmedabad and Kolkata, 1 each to Dharamshala, Goa, Hisar, Indore, Jammu. -Including 1 flight to Lucknow, Chennai, Patna and Pune. All of these flights operate daily, while currently the only international flight from the airport is to Dubai.
The domestic flight schedule has just been released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. The schedule of international flights will also come next week. It is expected that the discontinued Sharjah flights and one or two other international flights in the winter schedule will also be included in the schedule of Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Chandigarh.
