A large number of Indian cricketers in the country are giving preference to playing in IPL instead of domestic cricket. In view of this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can now take a big step. BCCI can now make it mandatory to play three to four matches in Ranji Trophy to participate in the Indian Premier League.
According to reports, due to Ishan Kishan not playing first-class cricket and focusing only on IPL, the Indian board is planning to take steps in this regard. If BCCI implements this rule then many star cricketers will come under its purview. It also includes star all-rounder Krunal Pandya and Rajasthan fast bowler Deepak Chahar.
Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Deepak Chahar has also not participated in Ranji Trophy matches for Rajasthan. In this regard, a senior BCCI official informed that the board can make it mandatory to play three-four Ranji Trophy matches for IPL.
