Now awareness campaign will be run at polling stations with low voting

Jind, July 3 (HS). A list of such polling stations has been prepared where voting was low. A campaign has been planned to increase the voting percentage by running awareness campaigns and other activities at such polling stations. Work will be done as per the instructions of the Election Commission to increase the voting percentage in these areas.

Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Mohammad Imran Raza said on Wednesday that the work of verification of the voter list with photo is going on in the district. During this, the process of making new votes and deleting the names of voters who have died will be done. He called upon such citizens to get their votes registered whose age has completed 18 years on July 1, 2024. BLOs were also instructed to make votes of such eligible citizens during door to door verification work. The Deputy Commissioner said that the Election Commission of India has issued a program for the second special brief revision of the photo voter list, considering July 1, 2024 as the eligibility date.

According to the program, the work of verification of voter list has been started by booth level officers (BLOs) by going door to door from June 25. This campaign will run till July 24 and the draft of the voter list will be published on July 25. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the BLOs under this campaign by providing correct information and get the verification work done.

He informed that BLOs will go door-to-door to collect information about voters as per the prescribed proforma. While preparing an error-free voter list, persons above 18 years of age whose name is not included in the voter list can fill out their form and give it to the concerned BLO so that their name can also be included in the voter list. Voters themselves should also ensure that their name is not mentioned at two places. The District Election Officer informed that camps will be organized for getting votes made from 25th July to 9th August, on 27th and 28th July and 3rd and 4th August. During this time, all BLOs will be present at their polling stations. They will do other work related to voter card including making new votes.
