Now all temples and monasteries in Bihar will have to give details of their property, order of Nitish Kumar government

BSBRT in order to provide the data of temples and monasteries: In Bihar, the government has directed all the district collectors of the state to compulsorily register the temples and monasteries running without registration in the district. In which efforts are being made to get complete information about the immovable property of the temples and monasteries of the district from the State Religious Trust Board. After this, all the details including the property of these temples and monasteries will be uploaded on the website of the Religious Justice Board.

Registration of all temples and monasteries in Bihar is mandatory

The Bihar State Board of Religious Justice (BSBRT) comes under the Law Department of the state government. According to Minister Nitin, the Law Department had issued a letter to all the district collectors last month and instructed them to 'start the process of registration of as many unregistered temples, monasteries and trusts as possible.'

All information will be uploaded on BSBRT website

The District Magistrate said, 'All the registered temples and monasteries will have to give all the details of their immovable property to BSBRT as soon as possible, so that it can be uploaded on the website.' According to the departmental minister, 'This decision of the state government is old, but the government wants to implement it strictly.'

18 districts provided registration and property details to BSBRT

Only 18 districts of the state have provided registration and property details to BSBRT. It is worth noting that according to the Bihar Hindu Religious Trust Act, 1950, all public temples, monasteries, trusts and dharamshalas in the state are required to be registered under BSBRT.

Two and a half thousand unregistered temples in Bihar

The aim of the state government is to make public all the information including the property of temples, monasteries and trusts so that legal action can be taken against those who buy and sell illegally. While the government has received statistical information of 35 districts of the state under BSBRT. In which it was found that more than two and a half thousand unregistered temples and monasteries in the state have more than four thousand acres of land.

Vaishali has the highest number of 438 temples and monasteries without registration

According to the data of Bihar Law Department, the total number of registered temples in the state is 2499 and they have more than 18456 acres of land. According to the information, the maximum number of unregistered temples and monasteries are in Vaishali. There are 438 unregistered temples and monasteries in Vaishali, 307 in Kaimur, 273 in West Champaran, 191 in Bhagalpur, 185 in Begusarai, 154 in Saran, 152 in Gaya.

Preparing for a meeting with another department

According to departmental minister Nitin Naveen, he has a program to hold a meeting with other departments at the end of this month. Officials of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department will also be present in this meeting. Their aim is that all temples and monasteries follow the rules under the law applicable in the state.
