Farmer protest: Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that now they will march to Delhi on December 8. He said that the group which was to go to Delhi yesterday will now go the day after tomorrow. Now the central government will be given time tomorrow for talks. In fact, about two and a half hours after the start of the Delhi march, the farmers have retreated from the Shambhu border. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh said that many of our leaders have been injured. In such a situation, we have called back the batch.

Pandher said that we have had talks with Haryana Police. They asked for a demand letter from us. After this we submitted the demand letter. The central government has been given one day’s time for talks. It will be fine if the central government talks, otherwise tomorrow on December 8 at 12 noon, a group of 101 farmers will march towards Delhi.

Farmer leader Pandher said that we want to talk to the Agriculture Minister. The movement has been postponed for talks with the Centre. We will leave for Delhi on 8th December. We will oppose BJP in Punjab. He said that now the farmers’ procession will leave for Delhi the day after tomorrow. This time has been given so that the central government can talk to us. Today we were asked what we want and who should be included in the conversation. We have said that the Agriculture Minister should talk.

The farmer leader further said that due to police action, eight farmers are in the hospital today. The total number of injured in today’s police action is around 15. We have maintained discipline. We knew that it was not possible for us to move forward by breaking the arrangements made by Haryana, but we wanted to tell people that even if we wanted to go to Delhi on foot, we were not allowed to go.
